serial #71, 219 Improved Zipper, 26" target weight barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain about 98% excellent quality original blue with the bottom lever toning to plumb. The buttstock is Monte Carlo style with pistolgrip and a generous left-sided cheekpiece, it appears to be Circassian walnut and rates very good to excellent. The black walnut forend is flat-bottom benchrest style and very generously proportioned, it too rates about excellent. Both barrel and action are maker marked "WJ Hauck" and the gun is equipped with double set triggers and has been drilled and tapped for steel target blocks, they are present. The action is somewhat sluggish and shows a good deal of hardened oil, likely a professional cleaning would go a long way. Overall a good single shot in a now obscure wildcat caliber, from a respected Vermont gunmaker. (35487-S16362)
