serial #3022, 12ga. (2 1/2"), 25" barrels choked modified and full with bright about excellent bores, the left tube showing remnants of what may have been a very minor bulge at the muzzles.The barrels retain about 98% later, excellent quality blue and have some minor engraving at their rib extension with the barrel length inlaid in gold "XXV".The English scroll engraved frame is a bright pewter showing a light cleaning and remnants of pinprick pitting, the engraving still fully evident being only slightly soft on the action plate.The triggerguard bow has slightly soft engraving and is reblued as is the top lever, the guard showing a small crack at its retaining screw.The checkered scant pistolgrip buttstock rates excellent as professionally refinished as does the splinter style forend.The gun is Nitro-proved for 1 1/8 ounce loads.The treble action locks up tight and the barrels are on-face, the tiniest sliver of light is starting to become visible along of their top edge only.Length of pull to be grooved butt is 14 1/4" with drops of 1 5/8" and 2 1/4".A usable crown model XXV British double that points well.(34803-17) {C&R}
